The Northern Ireland international is on the verge of turning 37 but he is not yet starting to think about calling it a day.
The defender netted last time out in the 1-1 draw with Hull and hopes he can continue to have a positive impact for the Baggies.
McAuley boasts four goals for the season, which sees him ranked as the club’s joint-top scorer, alongside Salomon Rondon and Nacer Chadli.
"They say 35 is the hard one but I’ve lost count now," McAuley said.
"I’m enjoying my football and I want to play as long as I can. Hopefully I can play a standard that everyone’s happy with.
"The main thing is I’ve got the desire to do it and I want to do it. I want to improve at my age and I think that’s what is keeping me going."
