Chris Brunt is banned for West Brom's visit of Blackburn, while striker Peter Odemwingie is again set to play through the pain barrier.
Northern Ireland international midfielder, Brunt, picked up his fifth booking of the season in the 2-0 defeat at Bolton on Boxing Day so will serve a one-game ban on Tuesday when Rovers visit the Hawthorns.
Jerome Thomas is the man likely to step into the void left by Brunt if he can overcome the bout of illness which ruled him out of the squad for the game at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday.
Meanwhile Nigerian hitman, Odemwingie, returned from a three-week absence due to an ankle injury despite not being 100% fit. And he spurned several great opportunities to grab his seventh goal of the campaign.
However, the summer signing from Lokomotiv Moscow is set to feature against Blackburn with the full backing of Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo.
He said: "Peter had two fantastic chances and it's quite unusual for him (to miss them). He's quite composed in front of goal and he usually scores.
"But that will come.
"Apart from the chances, he had a good game. If he scored a goal or two then we would be talking in different terms. He'll be okay. He's a good player and once he gets back into the rhythm he will put those chances away."
