The new Baggies manager does not want to think about relegation but with Albion 17th in the table, he admits the threat of dropping out of the Premier League can not be ignored.
A goalless draw at home to bottom of the table Crystal Palace was hardly the ideal start to life in charge at the Hawthorns but Pardew remains positive that results will steadily start to improve.
Too many draws have proven to be a major issue for West Brom but Pardew is confident they can get enough wins on the board over the remainder of the season to remain in the top flight.
“That (relegation) is not really in our thinking,” he told the Express & Star. “Let’s not ignore it but make sure the performances we deliver for the next 23 games are of a level that make us comfortable.
“We’ve got to win nine or ten of them to stay in the division, so we need to start turning these draws into wins.”
