The Baggies missed Jara in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat against Manchester United, but he is back following a one-game ban and will be pitched into the starting XI at Craven Cottage. And his return is very timely as Di Matteo is without the suspended Gabriel Tamas, while Jonas Olsson is battling to be fit following a long-term Achilles injury and Pablo Ibanez has an ankle problem.
Steven Reid is out with a knee injury which requires surgery but Di Matteo should be able to call on top scorer Peter Odemwingie, despite his current injury niggles.
Meanwhile Northern Ireland international midfielder Chris Brunt has urged the players to bounce back from a run of four successive defeats over the festive fixture programme.
"We didn't play that badly but we haven't got any points," said Brunt on the club's website.
"I think we would rather be rubbish and pick up a few points. We have to pick ourselves up again because there is another game tonight that we have to pick up three points from.
"Otherwise it has been a pretty dismal Christmas. That is the harsh reality of the Premier League.
"If you don't take your chances you get punished at the other end.
"We saw that a couple of seasons ago and at the moment we're seeing it again. We have seen enough this season to know we can win matches but we're going to have to start picking points up again pretty soon."
