Robson-Kanu has admitted he is keen to continue his career in the top flight following Reading's relegation.
He told Sky Sports News: "Scoring seven goals, I ended up the highest scoring midfielder in the Premier League in Reading's history, which was nice on a personal note.
"After coming through the academy it would be hard for me to leave, but in terms of my personal ambition I want to play in the Premier League."
The Baggies have now been credited with an interest in the Reading star but will face competition for his signature.
The Royals will not want to lose Robson-Kanu and could try and convince the winger to remain with the club for another campaign in order to try and secure an immediate return to the Premier League, while Aston Villa have also been linked with the 24-year-old.
