Hammers defender reveals new deal talks
West Ham, Updated:
Winston Reid has revealed that he is in talks with West Ham over extending his current contract, which expires in the summer.
The defender, who has impressed in recent weeks for Sam Allardyce's side, is keen to stay at Upton Park long-term and hopes talks between his representatives and the club prove fruitful over the next few weeks.
Following the New Year's Day win over Norwich, Reid told the London Evening Standard: "My contract is up in the summer but there is an option available and my agent is talking to the club."
Reid, who has settled at West Ham following his move in August 2010, has made over 50 appearances for the London club but this has been the Kiwi's best campaign to date. He has also chipped in with one goal so far, coming in the 3-0 home win over Fulham in September.
