Burnley are considering selling Arfield this month rather than lose him for nothing. The Clarets are keen for the 29-year-old to stay at Turf Moor but he is out of contract in the summer and unless he can be persuaded to sign a new deal before then he would be available on a free.
Burnley may decide to sell him this month in order to get a return, rather than let him walk away for nothing, and a figure of £2m has been mentioned as a starting price.
Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace and Chris Hugton at Brighton are also being linked with a move for the midfielder this month but manager David Moyes is thought to be in the box seat and is ready to make a move.
Moyes' number one target for his midfield is Bournemouth's Harry Arter but Arfield could represent a much cheaper second option.
