Wilshere remains a Hammers target

West Ham are keeping an eye on Jack Wilshere's situation at Arsenal and reports say a January offer could be in the pipeline.

The midfielder is believed to be keeping his options open over his future as he attempts to force his way back into the Gunners line-up on a regular basis after finally recovering from injury.

The 25-year-old is yet to feature for Arsenal in the Premier League this season but boss Arsene Wenger has intimated he will play his part and he retains faith in the England international despite his well-documented injury history.

However, if it becomes clear he is not first choice, it is thought Wilshere could ask for a move away, and a switch to the London Stadium would appeal.

The Hammers enquired about taking Wilshere on loan in the summer but were rebuffed by Arsenal with Wenger keen to see him back in action but things could change in the New Year.

Crystal Palace are also being credited with an interest and Wilshere will be aware he needs to be playing regularly as he attempts to force his way back into the England fold ahead of next summer's World Cup in Russia.

It is thought a £7million January offer could be enough to land Wilshere, who is in the final year of his contract at the Emirates.
