West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is monitoring the progress, or lack of it, of former Fulham midfielder Kerim Frei.
The winger has struggled for first-team opportunities this season at Besiktas and now there is a suggestion that the Turkish international could be allowed to leave in January.
The 22-year-old, who spent two years at Fulham before moving to his current club, is also wanted by AC Milan, FC Koln and AS Monaco none of whom would be put off by the asking price of around £3m.
After a poor start to the season West Ham have been linked with a host of new players but midfield is not thought to be an area that particularly needs attention.
