Zaki has made an excellent start to the season having scored four goals in his four Premier League appearances and Bruce is now keen to keep hold of the forward.
The 25-year-old's blistering start to the season has led to speculation that he could be lured away from the JJB when the transfer window re-opens in January.
However, Bruce revealed today that a deal is in place with Zamalek to make Zaki's loan move a permanent one.
"There's a deal in place, which we're fortunate to have, that if he meets certain criteria then he is ours, which is very reassuring," said Bruce.
"The deal is ours if we want it. It's written in our way, but it's when we eventually sign him that is the problem."
