Good Fortune for Latics

Marc-Antoine Fortune is expected to return from injury to give Wigan a recognised striker for their Sky Bet Championship trip to Watford.

Without Fortune (hamstring) and Grant Holt (knee), Latics have been forced to play winger Callum McManaman or loanee Nick Powell as a central figurehead.

However, boss Owen Coyle is hopeful former West Brom forward Fortune will be available as one of several changes from the team beaten 5-0 by Manchester City in the Capital One Cup in midweek, with goalkeeper Scott Carson, defender James Perch and midfielder Ben Watson among those likely to be recalled.

McManaman suffered cramp against Ipswich last Sunday but could feature, although Scotland international Shaun Maloney will see a specialist to determine the extent of his troublesome back problem.
