Striker tipped to come good
Wigan striker Mauro Boselli is on the verge of hitting his best form in England according to his manager Roberto Martinez.
The Argentina international arrived at the DW Stadium with a big goalscoring reputation but the 25-year-old has found life much tough in the Premier League following his £6m move from Boca Juniors.
his only goal for the Latics to date was in a Carling Cup tie with Swansea while a chance to open his account in the league was spurned on Saturday when he missed a penalty against West Ham.
However, Martinez is refusing to write the striker off and he claims he can see signs Boselli is finding his feet and will soon start reproduce the form that made him such a hit in South America.
The Latics boss said: "I am very confident in the way that I want him to enjoy his football.
"He is settling in - it is very, very different to what he has been used to.
"However, his goalscoring ratio in the Copa Libertadores and at the highest level in Argentina is magnificent - he scored 50 goals over two seasons and we're delighted to have him here.
"As a striker you come into a new club and you want to score. He had a very good start in pre-season and then he scored in the Carling Cup.
"Slowly he's getting into better positions and has a better understanding
"His movement is sensational and we need to make sure that we use that.
"As a team sometimes it takes a bit of time for a player to settle in, there is also a new way of life, the family is settling in.
"I am pretty confident that he will be himself playing for Wigan, and if we can achieve that he's going to be a huge asset for the future."
