Bolton Wanderers news

Bolton, also known as the Trotters and Wanderers, were one of the founding members of the football league. The proud club has battled hard to be an ever-present in the Premiership, other than when they spent two seasons in the division below having been relegated in 1997/98 on goal difference.

Manager Gary Megson has been at the club since he took over from the popular Sam Allardyce in 2007. Megson took the team to the last 16 of the UEFA Cup for the first time in the club’s history after making a shaky start to his reign.

The club’s home ground is The Reebok Stadium which holds a capacity of over 28,000 and is based outside the town at Horwich.

Prominent players in the squad for 2008/09 season include: Kevin Nolan, Gary Cahill and Kevin Davies whilst players like John McGinlay, Jay-Jay Okocha and Youri Djorkaeff are Bolton heroes from the past.
